MPFC secured their place in the division with some good results over the weekend of 7-8 May.

The team suffered a loss at last years playoffs, alongside Middlesbrough FC, this season fighting back from the disappointment and gaining automatic promotion.

Manager and coach Carolyn Bean said: “After a consistent season I do think we are ready for Premiership.

“After losing the play-offs at the end of last season, we were obviously very disappointed, but we started on a high note after our new signing from Premiership League winners Northern Thunder.

“This season has been much more consistent, losing only two games and drawing a frustrating game against Reading who we have since beaten 5-0.”

The club has held their own when playing in the East Midlands League against Premiership teams, MPFC will be confident of mixing it up in the Premiership Division.

“After seeing the team’s performance in the Midlands League this season, against Premiership teams, I would like to see us finish around the middle of the table; maybe sixth or seventh,” the 43-year-old coach added.

The 2015/16 season has also seen Middlesbrough Reserves secure 10th place in their first season in the Championship Division.

MPFC will celebrate the season on June 11 at the Village Hotel, Nottingham.

The 2016/17 season starts in September, both teams look forward to a new season and establishing their places in the league.
